This spacious private studio is situated
in a quiet, peaceful, country setting, just the place to
focus uninterrupted on your artistic challenges. Come,
relax, commune with nature, and create!
What you can count on in Kitty's classes and
workshops! Experienced instruction,
full of information and assistance to advance your artistic
skills. Each student will receive detailed written instructions
and information on the subject being taught as well as photographs
and line drawings where applicable. Class fee includes paints
and medium. Advance registration is required on all classes
with class fees due at registration. In the event a student
must cancel for any reason, the class fee will be transferred
to a future class at Kitty’s Studio. If a class is
cancelled by Kitty, all class fees will be refunded. Beverages
and snacks will be available for all classes in the Studio.
Painting Technique Classes
In these classes students will learn an array of painting techniques while completing a pre-determined design. The cost includes all written material, photos and line drawings. Taught primarily in oils on canvas, painting instruction will be designed for the intermediate level painter with moderate teacher assistance.

February
16 – “Summer Brook” re-visited!
Painted in oils on a 14 x 18 stretched canvas!
This is a repeat of a very popular painting ---- offered
again at the request of those who missed it the first
time round. A wonderful study of foliage, grasses,
water and values while completing this beautiful peaceful
scene. |

March
15 – “Sunset”
Painted in oils on an 12 x 16 stretched canvas!
Control of vivid color will be the primary focus as
students complete this dynamic sunset. This is a fun
challenge that gives painters the chance to set the
scene from a prepared sketch and then enhance their
individual paintings to completion.

April 12 – “Beach
Rose”
Painted in oils on an 14 x 18 stretched canvas!
I found this beautiful “Beach Rose” bush
growing along a northeast seashore. The flower is fragile
looking but quite hardy and painting its delicate features,
contrasted against the dark green of the leaves, makes
this a wonderful painting |

- "On A Clear
Day ......."
Painted in oils on an 11 x 14 stretched canvas!
The strong colors of the autumn tree to the left pulls the eye through the opening,
past the evergreen trees and into the far distance. The use of minimal color
on the tops of the autumn trees across the distant valley and into the mountains
create a feeling of great depth of field. This painting is a preview of Kitty’s
book titled “Depth & Distance in Landscape Painting” which will
be released by North Light Books in May. |
INTRODUCTION TO OIL PAINTING
If you have ever wanted to paint, or paint now and want
to improve your skills, this is the class for you.
A six session course painting in oils.
Learn the basics for painting beautiful landscapes, from
skies to water, trees to grasses. These classes
are a progressive series, building each week on skills
while completing paintings ready for framing.
No experience in either painting or drawing is required.
Composition, color theory, color mixing,
painting materials, and design are just a few of the subjects
to be covered in this complete and
popular class.
A new series of classes will begin in Autumn
'08.
