About Us - Kitty and
Chuck Gorrell
Kitty Gorrell began
seriously studying art as a young adult and her creative
drive has taken her from a determined beginner to an active
professional artist specializing in subjects drawn from
nature and her heritage. Following 20 years as a retail
business owner, Kitty closed River Front Gallery in 2004
and today works as an Independent Artist, Instructor, Author
and Promoter of the Arts. In 2006, the West Virginia Division
of Culture and History presented Kitty with the “Order
of the Arts and Historical Letters” award
in recognition of outstanding service in the performing
or fine arts in West Virginia .
Chuck Gorrell,
a retired Vibration Analysis Specialist for Crompton Chemical
Company, today works side by side with Kitty promoting
the arts and presenting the Kitty Gorrell Ent. booth at
several national arts trade shows and events. His specialty
is working with the KG ©Kanvas
Karriers plus framing of all styles. His custom framing
work has found its way into homes and businesses around
the country. He also manages “Gorrell’s Custom
Framing”, a branch of Gorrell Enterprises located
near the Kitty Gorrell Studio.
The newly constructed Kitty Gorrell
Studio for Creative
Studies opened for classes in January 2008. The Studio
is situated in a quiet, peaceful, country setting, …..
just the place to focus uninterupted on your artistic challenges.
A listing of the select classes and seminars can be found
on the “schedule” page of this web site.
Kitty and Chuck also hosts “Homecoming
Hues, A Painting Retreat” every September in central West Virginia.
This dynamic retreat is an independently sponsored and
hosted event, open to all painters with the desire to expand
their painting skills through outstanding classes and special
assembly programs.
